YOUR PEACEFUL ADULTS-ONLY RETREAT AWAITS

Hand-drawn site map of Gum Tree Lodge and Bush Camp with dam and camping areas.

PARK MAP

There are 44 powered sites scattered through the bush and 6 deck sites around the dams.

Choose a site that suits your needs on arrival (deck sites are pre-determined), depending on availability. Particular sites or areas can not be guaranteed.

Unpowered Sites

The unpowered section of the park is available during peak periods only.

See the rates section for pricing.

Campfires are not permitted in this area. Water is not supplied, so please come with full tanks.

Maximum 4-night stay in the unpowered area.

When is the Best Time to Visit?

The Fraser Coast area enjoys a pleasant temperature all year round.

Winter is the best time to visit, but it is the busiest time (particularly July)with the migration of southerners coming north to escape their cold weather.

Rates are slightly dearer due to supply and demand. There is plenty of fun to be had when there are more people around. Pizza nights happen weekly on a Friday or Saturday night all year round (minimum numbers are required).

Those who brave the warmer summer weather will enjoy more space and a reduction in rates.

A magnesium spa was installed in October 2025 and will be the perfect way to cool down in the warmer weather.

Dogs

We love dogs, and your pooch is welcome, too.

There is no charge for your dog, and we won't give you a long list of rules or segregate people with dogs.

We do ask that dogs be kept on a lead, but we have a lovely area by our bottom dam where they can run free and have a swim.

George's Diner

In 2017, George's Diner was built at Conway Beach Tourist Park, which Debbie and George then owned. Some of the items that were collected up there came down to Howard.

While there are no meals at this "Diner," it is full of memorabilia and a great spot for a get-together.

A tour of George's Diner is available to guests on a regular basis.

George might even show you his shed!
